Callout to the Community

We would like to invite you to be a part of our upcoming event! The Cut-a-Thon is a charity event of which 100% of all proceeds go towards the Positive Living Lunch Program provided by AIDS Calgary for the provision of nutritious hot lunches for men, women, and children living and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Thus far, we have some of the city’s hair salons and grooming parlours offering hair styling for men’ women, children and pets, at reduced rates.

Adult haircuts: $20, Children: $10, Pets: $20.

Each stylist is donating their time and talent for this event, and all monies raised will go directly to the Lunch Program. This Family Festival will also have clowns, face painting, food, and music.

To make this happen, we need your help! Any sponsorship or donation that you or your business can offer would be of GREAT HELP! Some Uptown 17 and area businesses, including the Uptown 17 BRZ, have made cash donations towards covering the costs of tables, chairs, sound, etc. Other businesses have made donations of product and merchandise for prizes for resale, draws, and so on. We require that any food/beverage businesses offer their product at reduced rates or offer a donation from the sale of items towards the Cut-a-thon. Your suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

All donations over $25 will receive a Tax Deductible Receipt from AIDS Calgary.

Should you or any friends like to be a volunteer, we can always use your help! In order to finalize plans, please let us know if you can contribute or are able to offer any assistance before August 16th, 2008.
